What should I know before I lounge under a palm tree?

Before you hit the slides, Camelback does have one recommendation, there are a lot of distractions out there, so it’s always a good idea to pre-determine a meeting spot in the event that you get separated (we’ve even tried to make this easy for you)…right at the base of the bridge that leads into the “Camel Cove” you will find our Camel Statue which makes a great spot to meet back up with your family, or if your separated.

What should we wear?

For comfort and convenience, Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark requires that all guests wear appropriate swimwear.  Proper swimwear is defined as a properly fitting and covering, one or two piece, swimsuite or shorts that stop above or just below the kneed.  Thong botttoms, cut-offs and suits with excessive buckles, rivets, and zippers are not permitted.  Children must use diaper covers while enjoying the water elements of Camelbeach.

Also, you and your family will probably be most comfortable if you wear water shoes or flip-flops…cubbies are conveniently located throughout the park to store footwear when you are enjoying the rides.

Don’t worry, if you happen to forget something you can stop by The Loft at Camelbeach for all your waterpark essentials and Camelbeach souvenirs.

Clothing and tattoos must not depict or display any lewd, offensive, or vulgar pictures and/or language. Turning clothing inside out so as to conceal these offenses is not permissible.

What can we bring into the park?

Please note that all bags are searched before they are permitted into the waterpark; no food, glass, or sharp objects are allowed. One bottle of water per person is permitted. Other than these exceptions, most other personal belongings are allowed. Other items to make you comfortable and prepared include towels, sunscreen, a change of clothes.  Life jackets are available for free throughout the park, but are on a first come, first served basis. ATMS are available, major credit cards are accepted, or for super convenience, you may want to consider “CamelCash.”

Not to worry. At any given moment there’s over 200 staff members out in the park trained to keep watch and ready to answer any questions.
Our award-winning lifeguard team is specifically trained and frequently audited by an independent company to ensure that service and safety standards are practiced.
Still, it’s a good idea for anyone to know where our First-Aid team is stationed. First-Aid is located adjacent to Pipeline Pizza, and is always staffed.

My kids take their cellphone and ipods everywhere, can I rent a locker?

Yes, at Camelbeach you can rent either a small locker or a large locker for the day for a  fee of $8 or $12 accordingly. Let’s see, soft-serve ice cream, fresh salads, wraps and funnel cake…need anything else? Just in case, we’ve got chicken fingers, pizza, burgers, hot dogs, cheesesteaks, succulent BBQ, and complete beverage service. The majority of our food outlets are centrally located right in the heart of the park; making it convenient to satisfy the choosiest eaters. Plus, there is plenty of shaded seating.

What are these Cabana’s that I’m always hearing about?

Did somebody say CABANA? Certainly, one of our 23 private cabanas is absolutely the ideal spot to set up shop with your family. Cabanas are conveniently located around both the Kahuna Lagoon Wavepool and Pharaoh’s Phortress. These Cabana’s come in two sizes; smaller cabanas accommodate up to six people, while larger cabanas can accommodate up to ten people. Supplies are limited, so if a Cabana interests you, be sure to reserve yours online before your visit. Did we forget to mention, food and beverage service is provided.

Where’s the best place for my family to call home for the day?

In addition to the Cabana’s, there are three other great locations that make an ideal base-camp for your crew. If you have younger children, you will definitely want to consider the “Camel Cove.” Families with older, or more independent kids, may want to consider either the Kahuna Lagoon Wavepool or Pharaoh’s Phortess as their base for the day.

What if we become separated during the day?

While we have an attentive staff and a great system in place, nothing beats having your own plan. Right in the heart of our park you’ll find a Camel. This is a perfect place to rendezvous in the event that you unintentionally become separated.
Here are some helpful hints right from our Security team:

 1) Take a deep breath…we’re on it, most individuals are reunited within fifteen minutes.
 2) As a family or group, pre-determine a meeting area in the event that you become separated
 3) If you are coming to the park with young children, take a moment to identify the various staff        members and uniforms that you see. Also, take the extra minute to remind your children what you are wearing, as this will greatly assist our efforts in picking you out from the crowd.
 4) Take a deep breath…we’re on it...there is only one way in and one way out…the exit is always staffed, most individuals are reunited within fifteen minutes.

Unfortunately, it’s not all that uncommon for family or group members to become separated from one another while at Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark – it’s a good-sized park, and there are many enticing distractions, like ice cream and waterslides. Fortunately, Camelbeach has a fantastic, attentive staff and we have a great procedure in place to minimize any anxiety and expedite a happy reunion.

First off, please note a few important features. At Camelbeach, there is only one exit gate, and this exit is always staffed. Second, right in the heart of the park, we have our “Family Meeting Camel.” This facility  makes for the perfect pre-determined rendezvous spot. Finally, Camelbeach staff members are easily identifiable; each and every park manager wears a bright orange golf shirt and carries a radio. Lifeguards and waterpark attendants wear either red or blue swim suits with well-branded t-shirts, and our security team is dressed in orange Camelbeach d shirts which read SECURITY across the front. All these team members, including our food and beverage department (you’d be surprised how many wandering souls make their way to the ice cream stand) are in constant communication.

As soon as any staff member recognizes that an individual may have become separated from a group, or has that “uh-oh, I-can’t-find-my-parents look in their eye” that staff member will immediately call by radio to Security. Without hesitation, one of our security members (we have both male and female) will go to the individual and stay with them until they are reunited. Most times, Security will go with the individual to the “Family Meeting Area”, or often times they will walk around the park with them. This is typically determined at the discretion of Security, based on the age and temperament of the individual.

Is smoking permitted within the park?

Yes. For the comfort and convenience of all our guests, smoking is permitted in designated areas throughout the park. Check out the Park Map to find our smoking areas.

Do I need to bring swimmies or a lifejacket for my little one?

You may, but please know that they must meet US Coast Guard standards. However, we have plenty of lifejackets available throughout the park; plus, they are free to use. Speaking of swimmer safety, please observe all height restrictions, and take comfort in knowing that Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark is 100% compliant with the Virgina Graeme Baker Act.

What about the end of the day, are there changing rooms or showers?

You’ll find both at Camelbeach Mountain Waterpark. No one ever wants to leave, but the ride home is a little more enjoyable in dry clothes.  Check out the Park Map to find our changing areas and rest rooms.
